Summer Course - Third and Fourth Sessions

We are pleased to announce on the third and the fourth sessions of this year's IHL Summer Course.
 
The third session's schedule is as follows:
 

September 6, between 9:00-15:00, at Bar-Ilan University, Laws Building 305, Hall of Laws no. 11.

 

9:00 - 9:15 - arrival and registration

9:15 - 10:45 – Peacekeeping forces – Adv. Karen Loehner (ICRC)

10:45 - 11:00 - short break

11:00 - 12:30 – ICRC Activities in Detention – Raad Al-Husban (ICRC)

12:30 - 13:00 - short break

13:00 - 14:30 – Cyber and IHL – Adv. Deborah Housen-Couriel

14:30 - 15:00 – Cyber and IHL (ICRC's Position) – Adv. Mickey Orkin (ICRC)


The fourth session's schedule is as follows: 

 

September 14, between 9:00-15:15, at Tel-Aviv University, building of Laws Faculty, room no. 206.

 

9:00 - 9:15 – arrival and registration

9:15 - 10:45 – International Criminal Law - Dr. Gilad Noam (Ministry of Justice)

10:45 - 11:00 – short break

11:00 - 12:30 – IHL & IHRL - Adv. Shani Dann (Ministry of Justice and ALMA member)

12:30 - 13:00 – short break

13:00 - 14:30 – Philosophy of IHL - Dr. Idit Shafran Gittleman (Israel Democracy Institute).

14:30 - 14:45 – short break.

14:45 - 15:15 – The Competition from the Perspective of a Former Participant – Tamar Sacerdoti

Refreshments will be provided.

Please update me if you are coming to the third session through the mail and no longer than 31/8/17.
 
On this opportunity we would like to remind that students who participate in at least 75% of the four summer course sessions provided by ALMA will receive a Certificate of Participation in ALMA's IHL Summer Course.

We are pleased to announce that the second session of this year's IHL Summer Course will take place on August 15, between 9:15-14:45 (refreshments will be provided), at IDC Herzliya. 
 
Students who participate in at least 75% of the four summer course sessions provided by ALMA will receive a Certificate of Participation in ALMA's IHL Summer Course.

Summer Course - First Session

We are pleased to announce that the first session of this year's IHL Summer Course will take place on June 29, between 16:00-20:00 (refreshments will be provided), at ICRC offices, 1 Ben Yehuda Street Migdalor Building, 15th Floor. 

 

Please note that in accordance with article 7 of the competition regulation, the attendance of all participating students in the first session is mandatory. Students who participate in at least 75% of the four summer course sessions provided by ALMA will receive a Certificate of Participation in ALMA's IHL Summer Course.

 

The session's schedule is as follows:

 

June 29, between 16:00-20:00, at the offices of the ICRC in Tel-Aviv.

 

16:00 - 16:15 - arrival and registration

16:15 - 16:30 - Introduction to the competition – Ms. Katja Knöchelmann (ICRC)

Here are the dates of ALMA's summer sessions for the participants of the competition:

 

First meeting: June 29, 2017, between 16:00-20:00, at the offices of the ICRC in Tel-Aviv.

Welcome to the website of the 11th National Competition on International Humanitarian Law for students in Israel. The Competition is organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) with the assistance of ALMA – the Association for the Promotion of International Humanitarian Law in Israel.

The competition will take place in 23 - 26 October, 2017.
