ALMA - Association for the Promotion of International Humanitarian Law and the Lauder School of Government, Diplomacy & Strategy in the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) would like to invite you to another session of the Joint International Humanitarian Law Forum. The session will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2018, 19:00, in room A321, Arison-Lauder Building, IDC Campus, Kanfei Nesharim St., Herzliya, Israel.

Roundtable Discussion - The Implications of Tunnel Warfare

Recent conflicts have shown that tunnel warfare has become an integral tactic of non-state group's strategy in modern conflicts. The forum, in a special roundtable format, will discuss the legal, practical and moral implications of tunnel warfare, in light of recent events in Gaza and Lebanon.

The following are our notable roundtable speakers:

Dr. Daphne Richemond Barak - Author of recently published "Underground Warfare" (link to book), Head of Law & Security Program, Lauder School of Government, Diplomacy and Strategy at IDC Herzliya.

Dr. Joel Roskin - Military geologist and geomorphologist, Leon H. Charney School of Marine Sciences and the Leon Recanati Institute for Maritime Studies, University of Haifa.

MAJ Yehuda Kfir - Operational Planning Engineer and Project Manager, Israel Defense Forces.

Following the presentation, there will be a round-table discussion.
