IHL Summer Course - Overview

Here are the dates of ALMA's summer sessions for the participants of the competition:

First meeting: June 29, 2017, between 16:00-20:00, at the offices of the ICRC in Tel-Aviv.

The topics that will be studied in this session are:

Introduction to the competition

Introduction to IHL

Classification of Conflicts

Second meeting: August 15, 2017, between 9:00-14:15, at IDC.

The topics that will be studied in this session are:

Laws of Occupation

Conduct of Hostilities

Means and Methods of Warfare

Third meeting: September 6, 2017, between 9:00-15:20, at Bar-Ilan University.

The topics that will be studied in this session are:

Peacekeeping Forces

ICRC Activities in Detention

Cyber and IHL

The Competition from the Perspective of a Former Participant

Fourth meeting: September 14, 2017, between 9:00-14:15, at Tel-Aviv University.

The topics that will be studied in this session are:

International Criminal Law

IHL & IHRL

Philosophy of IHL.

Please note that the program is subject to changes.

Students who participate in at least 75% of the four summer sessions provided by ALMA will receive a Certificate of Participation in ALMA's IHL Summer Course.
